Eco Printing

Our train trip Bandung - Yogyakarta

In one of my memorable journeys, we took a train trip across the beautiful island of Java. This experience showcased the two contrasting sides of this remarkable island. On one hand, I saw crowded urban areas filled with energy, while on the other, there were tranquil landscapes that remained primitive and deeply rooted in nature's beauty!

After our train journey, we arrived in the cozy living room of a family. The mother had transformed the space into a large studio filled with her creations! Outside, an older lady showed us how to make eco-printing. She used leaves from a specific tree native to Java and flowers for the prints. The bark of the tree provides the color on the fabric.

As we gathered around, the vibrant atmosphere buzzed with creativity. Each piece of fabric that emerged from the process told a story of nature and artistry intertwined. The eco-friendly method not only showcased her talent but also highlighted the beauty of sustainable practices. This enchanting moment reminded us of the importance of preserving our environment while supporting local artisans.
